Vehicle incident Prevention and Mitigation - Security Guide

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is part of the Department of Homeland Security.  Last month, they issued a report that was over a year in the making, entitled:

VEHICLE INCIDENT PREVENTION AND MITIGATION Security Guide

This comprehensive guide documents the use of vehicles to cause harm to people or facilities in deliberate vehicle attacks, as well as the frequency of accidental vehicle incursions into storefronts, public spaces, and crowds.  The document gives the latest thinking on risk assessments, threat planning, and measures to be taken to prevent attacks from hostile vehicles.

Featured in the document are statistics and data contributed by Rob Reiter and the Storefront Safety Council, which was used by CISA to establish the much higher frequency of accidental vehicle crashes, and to document what sorts of buildings and facilities are most frequently struck by drivers, and the most frequent causes.  The U.S. government and agencies have now cited our unique database multiple times over the years, validating both the value and the accuracy of the over 28,000 incidents that we have catalogued
